 Kathy S. Schultz, CPA
Director - Tax & Small Business
As a director in the firm's tax and small business department, Kathy specializes in providing tax planning and compliance services for individuals, businesses, guardianships, estates and trusts. In this role, she frequently works with local attorneys to ensure their clients' estate and trust tax matters are properly handled. Additionally, she works closely with individuals requiring intricate tax planning throughout the year.
Kathy is also responsible for the administration of the firm's tax software applications and for coordinating the scheduling of client engagements throughout the year. She has presented several in-house training seminars on how to utilize the firm's tax-preparation software. Kathy has also spoken to client and business groups and written articles about tax-related matters such as e-filing and recent tax law changes.
From 2005-2006, Kathy acted as chair of the Tax Committee of the Delaware Society of CPAs, served as Chair of the Delaware Society of CPAs from 2007-2008 and is serving as a member of its Council from 2003-2009. She is also serving as a member of the Council of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants from 2006-2009. She is a member of the Wilmington Tax Group and the Delaware Estate Planning Council. Within the community, Kathy has served as an assistant scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 959 from 2000-2007. She is currently serving on the finance committee for the Delaware Children's Museum.
Kathy graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Delaware. She received her Certified Public Accountant designation from the state of Delaware in 1996.
