In 1986 at the age of 28, Michael earned the distinction of being the youngest person elected a director at Belfint, Lyons & Shuman. Today, Michael specializes in providing accounting and management consulting services to businesses and nonprofit organizations. He also chairs the firm's employee benefits and accounting and auditing departments. Through establishing strong, long-term relationships from staff to board of directors, Michael has gained respect from his clients and they value his management advisory services. Whether performing an operational review, evaluating a company's internal controls or developing a business succession plan, Michael works with clients to help them achieve their business growth and wealth accumulation goals. Michael is actively involved in numerous professional and business organizations and has held leadership positions within many of these organizations, including serving as past president of the Delaware Society of Certified Public Accountants (DSCPA) and past Council Member for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Michael is also involved in the Caesar Rodney Rotary Club and the Wilmington Tax Group. Within the community, Michael is a co-founder of the Delaware High School Swim Coaches Association and the A.I. duPont High School Swimming and Diving program. Michael was voted "Coach of the Year" four times by the other swim coaches. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Delaware. |
