On June 23, 2017 House Bill (HB) 260 was assigned to the House Administration Committee. HB 260 would create a bipartisan, bicameral, six member committee to review grant-in-aid requests and develop the grant-in-aid appropriations bill. Currently, the Joint Finance Committee, who also writes the state operating budget, reviews these requests and develops the appropriations bill. In addition, HB 260 would require the committee to consider the performance and efficacy of the potential grant-in-aid recipient.

HB 260 would take effect on January 1, 2018.
