Yesterday, April 9, the IRS released two new Notices and one Procedure update to help give additional relief to taxpayers. One Notice vastly broadens the scope of the extended filing and payment deadlines. These changes will help individuals, trusts, estates (including gift tax returns), Americans living or working abroad, corporations, nonprofits, and other non-corporate tax filers. The other two give additional guidance on providing tax relief under the CARES Act for taxpayers with net operating losses.
