BLS is seeking a professional with advanced technical skills in audit areas with a strong mid-sized, privately held business emphasis, including preparation and review of work papers, financial statements, and reports.

Sample Project Opportunities
  • Plan and execute the full scope of audit, review, and accounting engagements for a variety of mid-sized, privately held businesses
  • Act as liaison between the client and the Supervisor, Manager, or Director
  • Prepare, review, and analyze various financial statements
  • Stay compliant with pronouncements of professional and other regulatory groups
  • Mentor new staff on assignments, while simultaneously performing efficiently on engagements
  • Prepare tax returns for varying entities
What We Look For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 3-4 years public accounting experience in an audit or accounting environment with emphasis on for profit auditing
  • CPA certification or evidence of working towards certification
  • Ability to travel to same-day work at client locations
  • Working knowledge of small business and audit compliance
  • Ability to work independently

Sample Project Opportunities
  • Plan and execute the full scope of audit, review, and accounting engagements for government entities, entities that receive government awards and other audit organizations performing Yellow Book audits
  • Act as a liaison between the client and the Supervisor, Manager, or Director
  • Prepare, review, and analyze of various financial statements
  • Stay compliant with pronouncements of professional and other regulatory groups
  • Mentor new staff on assignments, while simultaneously performing efficiently on engagements
What We Look For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

BLS is seeking a professional, with a high degree of interest in becoming part of a rapidly growing international tax practice, who has experience and developed technical skills in a variety of international tax services related to the coordination of US and foreign tax laws and their implications on US and foreign multinational companies.

Sample Project Opportunities
  • Assist with all aspects of international tax compliance for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts and estates, including preparation of work papers and US income tax returns related to client’s foreign operations (e.g., Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, 8938, 1120DISC, 1040NR and other similar forms)
  • Research tax-efficient structuring of inbound and outbound international transactions, effective use of tax treaties and/or Totalization Agreements, planning related to offshore investment activities and repatriation programs to minimize US and foreign income taxes of US-based multinational clients
  • Understand and apply foreign aspects of accounting, including analysis of intercompany transactions such as intercompany loans and other payments as they relate to US tax implications
  • Assist with development and execution of international marketing initiatives, including maintaining strong client relations and cross-selling services
  • Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis to stay informed regarding tax changes and issues that could affect international clients
What We Look For
  • Excellent research skills and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS accounting for income taxes related to multinational companies
  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills
  • 3-4 years public accounting experience (with at least 2 years of international experience)
  • CPA certification

What We Look For
  • Working towards a BA/BS or Masters degree in accounting or an accounting certificate
  • Will have 150 Credit Hours at graduation – CPA eligible

Begin your career with our Summer Internship Program. Not only will you gain experience, work with clients, and network with the BLS family, but you will also be considered for a Staff Accountant Position. Many of the members of the BLS family started their career journey with a BLS Summer Internship and have advanced throughout the firm! You could be next!

What to Expect
  • Duration – 8-week/40-hour schedule combining formal learning with real world experiences
  • Acquire familiarity with firm processes while learning advanced accounting software programs.
  • Develop and apply learned skills through a variety of activities in all departments of the firm, not just one department. It’s the rotational development concept that makes us different from the others.
  • Engage and learn to perform work assignments as a first-year staff member and an active part of the BLS team.
  • Contribute to real client work, not an internship of scanning.
  • Network with accomplished professionals in the public accounting field.
What We Look For
  • Working towards a Bachelors or Masters degree in accounting or an accounting certificate
  • Two years or less from the 150 Credit Hour requirement
  • Striving towards the goal of working in Public Accounting and becoming a CPA

Looking to gain first-hand experience of what it is like to work for a mid-sized, regional firm but are too early in your college career for an internship? Our half-day Externship/Shadowing Experience is for you! During this program, you will have the chance to interact with Staff Accountants through Shareholders to better understand how public accounting firms help their clients succeed. Best of all, our Externs get to add this experience on their resume AND are automatically invited to interview for the Summer Internship Program, when eligible.
