The celebration of our 95th anniversary in 2018 speaks volumes about the stability of BLS and our presence in the community. The firm has evolved from a small accounting practice at its inception in 1923 to one of the largest and most well-respected accounting firms in Delaware today.
The talent BLS retains is significant. It is not only an indicator of experience within a variety of industries, but also of longevity within the firm. These strengths enable us to provide the highest level of service in an efficient manner.
An emphasis on training is promoted and BLS provides the time and money needed to keep its staff licensed and expert. Tuition assistance for special certifications or advanced degrees is provided to encourage employees to grow themselves, which ultimately translates into growth for the firm.

An open-door policy among the Directors and upper-level management fosters an environment where staff feel important and free to ask questions. Because the Directors are so approachable, a continual state of mentoring and advising naturally occurs.
Our firm is committed to providing the most state-of-the art technology that is serviced in-house by a fully credentialed IT professional that holds a Director position himself. Resources are routinely invested in our technology, and our employees and clients are the benefactors.
While the Directors are helping to train and develop the BLS team, they are equally as committed to the development of the firm. Board meetings are held to discuss firm management, strategic growth and expansion, the firm’s financial position, and the distribution of profits in the form of profit sharing and incentive compensation bonuses.
BLS participates in annual benchmarking surveys and uses this data to benchmark the firm’s performance against our peers. This helps to identify areas where we excel, but most importantly, identify areas of improvement.
