Your Career Begins At BLS

BLS considers our college recruiting process an important part of our firm-wide recruiting and the long-term success of our firm. We listen and build relationships with our interns, professors, college career services departments, and the community to attract the best candidates.

BLS is actively involved in many local college virtual and in-person events throughout the year recruiting for Externship, Summer Internship, and Staff Accountant positions. Visit our calendar to see the events we are attending at your school. Don’t see your college listed but are interested in working for a Top Workplace CPA firm in Delaware? About Our College Programs

Are you looking to gain first-hand knowledge of what a career could look like in a mid-sized, regional public accounting firm but are too early in your college career for an internship? Our half-day virtual Externship/Shadowing Experience, that occurs in August, is for you! During this program, you will have the chance to interact with our current Summer Interns, Staff Accountants, all the way up through Shareholders, to better understand how public accounting firms help their clients succeed. Best of all, our Externs get to add this experience on their resume AND are automatically invited to interview for the Summer Internship Program, when eligible.

What to Expect
  • Duration – Half day, virtual experience (due to the number of attendees, our Externship is virtual)
  • Welcome from BLS Shareholder
  • Virtual Office Tour
  • Panel Discussion with Auditing/Tax & Small Business/Corporate & International Services Members
  • Panel Discussion with Current Interns
  • Overview our College Recruiter about Our Recruiting Process and What We Look for in BLS Team Members

Begin your career with our Summer Internship Program. Not only will you gain experience, work with clients, and network with the BLS family, but you will also be considered for a Staff Accountant Position. Many of the members of the BLS family started their career journey with a BLS Summer Internship and have advanced throughout the firm! You could be next!

  • Hybrid experience, including a mix of safely being in-office and virtual
  • Acquire familiarity with firm processes while learning advanced accounting software programs.

  • Engage and learn to perform work assignments as a first-year staff member and an active part of the BLS team.
  • Contribute to real client work, not an internship of scanning.
  • Network with accomplished professionals in the public accounting field.

Do you know exactly which practice area you want to dedicate your career in public accounting – Tax, Audit, Consulting? How do you know if you have not had the experience, right? All Staff Accountants that join the BLS family go through our Rotational Development Program which gives exposure to all areas of our firm.
