BLS stresses the importance of quality production done efficiently. We also stress a “client first” culture. In order to reward our staff who exceed their expectations, BLS provides a generous Incentive Bonus to those who qualify.

BLS’s Commission Bonus Program is designed to reward staff responsible for bringing new clients into the firm or for expanding services to existing clients. Bonuses range from 2.5% – 5% of receivables for 2 years.

The firm encourages employees to recommend qualified individuals and business contacts for professional and para-professional positions. Employees can receive a cash bonus, up to $12,500, for referring candidates who are ultimately hired and stay with the firm at least 12 months.

While the Directors are helping to train and develop the younger staff, they are equally as committed to the development of the firm. They hold quarterly Board meetings (which include all the Directors and Principals) to discuss firm management, strategic growth and expansion, the firm’s financial position and distribution of profits (which are often shared with the staff in the form of profit sharing and incentive compensation bonuses). BLS Directors choose to have less in their own pockets because they feel that investing in our team and tools is more important for the longevity of the firm.

BLS participates in an annual bench marking report through INSIDE Public Accounting where they gather financial performance through various metrics and rank the nation’s largest public accounting firms. Along with the recognition of being an IPA Top 300 firm, we use this report to benchmark our performance against our peers and identify areas where we excel, but most importantly, identify areas for improvement. The bench marking reports help guide our strategic plan.
