Belfint, Lyons & Shuman, P.A. (BLS), a Top 300 certified public accounting and consulting firm headquartered in Delaware, announces multiple well-earned promotions.
Mark Sweeney has been promoted to Supervisor in the firm’s Tax & Small Business Practice Group
Mark joined the firm in 2009 and has progressed his career within BLS since that point while taking a short break to work for a private construction company. He works closely with small businesses and their owners, providing comprehensive consulting, tax planning, tax compliance, and financial statement services at both the individual and corporate tax level. His experience working for a construction company and a public accounting firm gives him a unique understanding of his clients and their needs. Mark is a graduate of the University of Delaware where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and has passed all parts of the CPA exam. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Delaware Society of Certified Public Accountants, and Delaware Contractors Association where he volunteers for their annual Crab Feast. Mark currently resides in Landenberg, Pennsylvania.
Nick Allen, Nate Grubb, and Bella LaPlante have been promoted to Staff II Accountant
Nick joined the firm as a scanner for many years while in high school, participated in our 2023 Summer Internship program, returned as a full-time Rotational Development team member in June 2024, and is now a dedicated member of our Employee Benefit Plan Audit Practice Group. Nick is a graduate of the University of Delaware where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and currently resides in Wilmington, Delaware.
Nate joined the firm as a 2023 Summer Intern, returned as a full-time Rotational Development team member in January 2024, and is now a dedicated remote member of our Employee Benefit Plan Audit Practice Group. Nate is a graduate of the University of Delaware where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. Nate is originally from Dover, Delaware and currently resides in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Bella joined the firm as a 2024 Tax Season Intern, transitioned in July 2024 to a full-time team member in our Rotational Development Program, and recently dedicated her path within our Tax & Small Business Practice Group. She is a graduate of West Chester University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and currently resides in Wilmington, Delaware.
